There is another Mod you should be thanking. Which Mod should everyone be thanking for pushing the issue and finally getting Sydoline to pass the annoyances on to Tig, a year after they should have been implemented in the first place? A recently fired one.

TRANSFORMICE HACK SITESI MODS

Before this, Mods were limited to 360 hours whether it was a player’s first time hacking or their twentieth. They lowered the chances a hacker gets to 3 (!) and gave Mods the command /banhack, which allows them to give them the appropriate sanction even if they aren’t reported in Modopwet. It would be unfair not to mention that as of recently, though, some positive changes have been made to the ways Mods ban. Most Mods found this ridiculous and they knew players would too, if they were allowed to tell them about it – or start a community discussion. Is it in Transformice “The Company”’s best interests to allow people to continue spending money on hacking accounts? Yes. Is that fair to the majority of the community who play legitimately? No. That’s right, you can get 4 bans for hacking before you are not allowed to play on the hacking account anymore (nevermind other accounts). When the /report system (Modopwet) was introduced, that’s when Mods learned that players would be able to hack four times before being permanently banned from the game, but only if they are banned through Modopwet all four times. These are hackers whose bans have probably already expired (It often takes more than a month for the list to be dealt with) and will hack again. It was supposed to be even easier for her this way, but right now there are 600+ repeat offenders posted to that document who Mods are waiting for to be permanently banned. This is still how Mods report multiple hackers today. Then she created an online document where Mods could post the names. She banned 4,204 players and created a new thread, which was also mostly ignored. Admins rely on Mods and their bots way more than they should for a being a “company” but those Mods get no appreciation in return – not even a thank you once a year! This is a another theme that will become apparent to you as you continue reading. Another MOD (:o) created a tool for her to ban people faster. Eventually, a MOD (:o) started to compile all names in a document for her. This lasted a few days until she got too busy (or lost interest in helping the team) to keep up with it anymore. She’d ban the people Mods listed and edit their posts to say that she did it.

Things were going okay when Sydoline first created the threads. Removing permanent ban from Mods doesn’t really make sense when you look at it that way, but it’s just one of the ways that Transformice “The Company” has made it more difficult for Mods to help you. Mods were (are) still the ones determining if players were hacking, and she was (and still is today, when she eventually gets around to it) banning them based on who mods say is hacking, and nothing more. So, If Mods can’t permanently ban players themselves, how are they getting permanently banned? As that screenshot shows, Sydoline created threads in the Mod subforum where Mods would post the names of people who’ve hacked at least twice. Technically Mods aren’t supposed to see IPs either, but they must be willing to overlook that. Why was perm ban removed from Mods in the first place? Money. Here is an example of them begging for help in just *one* thread (There were certainly many to choose from.) over the period of a few months.Īnother major issue was the removal of the Mod’s ability to permanently ban users. In any case, Mod frustration with the hacker problem is something that has remained unchanged from the moment the game was created.

This is despite Sydoline’s discouragement of such activity, as shown in a recent hiring for the EN team “You shouldn’t be hiring to help other communities.” Many Mods feel that it is unfair to ignore these players simply because they aren’t from the EN community and so they make a personal choice to help those from other communities also. However, becoming a Moderator for Transformice means that players from all communities expect things from you. This isn’t an issue many EN players have to deal with, at least not compared to communities such as BR, ES, and TR.
